Description of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) - The Thinking Muslim

Description of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)

He was neither too short nor too tall
He was of a sturdy build and tapering fingers but that’s not all

The hair on his head were long and thick
He was of perfect appearance without any mistake

He had a large and prominent forehead
And his mouth was somewhat bulky and his teeth were perfectly set

His beard was thick and black
His gait was firm and he walked very fast

When he laughed it was mostly just a smile
He loved the poor and urged others to help them with all that they could pile

What he said was always to the point without any padding
And at times he would make his meaning clear by repeating

When pleased with someone he would lower his eyes
When annoyed he would keep silent or turn aside

His house was but a hut with walls of unbaked clay
And on top a thatched roof of palm leaves covered by camel skin it lay

He slept on the floor so once a few of his companions offered him something that was softer
But he did not take interest in worldly things and reminded them of the hereafter

He advised the people to live simple lives and he himself practiced great severity
His character consisted of compassion, tenderness, and sincerity

He loved and feared Allah much and lots of hearts he has won
He was the last of the prophets and left behind for us his examples and the Qur’an
